I really like these verses because they remind me of God’s character towards us. Yes we should be showing these characters towards others, but we can only understand when we experience it for ourselves. Because more than anything, these 9 fruit of the Spirit is exactly that – it is the Holy Spirit’s. So whenever we feel bad about ourselves or guilty, keep in mind that God is Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. He is the one who exercises these things towards you.

As a consequence, it becomes easier for us to be the same to people around us. Yes we sometimes fail, but we will progress as we keep our eyes on Jesus and allow Him to help us through.
